As the season nears we bring you the latest Community Shield betting odds as Arsenal take on Chelsea at Wembley.
After more than two months of sitting on a beach, spending hours on end wondering what to do and after an era of waiting patiently for our lives to have meaning again, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the greatest spectacle on Earth, is almost back.
The start of the Barclays Premier League is just a few days away and the traditional curtain-raiser to usher in another memorable season takes place this weekend. The 2015 FA Community Shield pits Arsenal against Chelsea on Sunday. The Gunners booked their place in the match after lifting the FA Cup last season, while the Blues confirmed their participation by winning the Barclays Premier League.
What Community Shield Betting Odds Look Attractive?
As we get closer to the game the bookies will be announcing their best Community Shield betting odds and free bet offers for the big game, but here are some of the best (come back again to find the latest ones we’ve added):
This game is often mistaken as a glorified friendly encounter but I can assure you that both the teams will head into it with their sights set on emerging as winners. Arsenal head into the match with some good form behind them after cruising through each and every single friendly match that they played so far.
Arsene Wenger’s side romped past a Singapore Select XI 4-0 in their opening game of the pre season and for their second match, they made little work of Premier League rivals Everton after beating them 3-1. Their last two warm up games against Lyon and Wolfsburg were part of the Emirates Cup, and once again the FA Cup holders proved to be a cut above the competition as they notched in seven unanswered goals over both the games.
Chelsea on the other hand have had a far tougher time during pre-season after failing to notch up a single victory in their three games so far. The Blues lost their opening warm up game 4-2 to New York Red Bulls while their two following games against PSG and Barcelona ended on stalemates of 1-1 and 2-2 respectively. They did beat Barca however, 4-2 on penalties, but then again, that shouldn’t count as the two could not be told apart after regulation time. Jose Mourinho’s boys have conceded a total of seven goals over three pre-season games and while the results of these matches do not matter, the Portuguese boss will most definitely be unsatisfied with the way these matches panned out.
In terms of team news, the Premier League champions will most likely be without Gary Cahill who has most probably broken his nose while scoring his team’s equaliser against Barca. Diego Costa may also miss the game after having an issue with his hamstring. Arsene Wenger will also be without two first team players as Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are both still out of action after suffering injuries towards the end of the previous season.
Overall, both the teams go into the game with the whopping majority of their stars all fit and fine.
The only difference between the two would have to be their form over the course of pre-season, but then again, how does that even matter? Standing on the cusp of another campaign of football, both Arsenal and Chelsea head into the Community Shield encounter with a clean slate, but only one of them will be able to walk out if with their record untarnished and it will be very interesting to see who that is.
